The System requirements for Blizzard's Overwatch have just been announced and are not overly demanding.

Have a look at Overwatch's system requirements.

I was expecting them to be pretty low, they dont wanna rule out lots of players by making it too demanding, i have a lot of friends playing lots of the other blizzard games on pretty poor computers and theyre all gonna wanna play it.

Lets just hope the game play is where they concentrate the most and not the graphics.

specifying a HDD spin speed is a new one to me but overall looks relatively reservered so nothing out of the ordinary for a western developer these days in terms of gpus 2 revisions behinds seems about right

I imagine they will be doing *alot* of data streaming to keep it fairly lightweight in it's memory and resource footprint, so will need a decent constant data streaming speed for it to keep up without texture pop-in and glitches etc.

Is it just me or are these "Recommended Requirements" kinda low? Meaning, most people should be able to play this without much effort as far as the demands go for your PC?

Blizzard is known for making widely accessible games in terms of performance requirements

I was watching this being played by Mark Purdy (aka Valkia) earlier on twitch and I must be getting old because I had no idea what the hell was happening, my brain went into information overload. From what I could see however it appears to be a cross between, unreal tournament III, Quake and The Avengers, still it looked like fun.

A lot of people in chat on twitch, when I was watching Ellohime, were saying its the closest to Team Fortress, but I definitely got a Quake 3 feel out of it, especially when he was playing Pharah.

Team Fortress was originally a Quake mod before the guys making it joined valve.
-edit- So I think quite a few people were comparing it to Team Fortress Classic more than TF2
