Thats always been the selling point for me given the lack of headroom alot of these cards have these days.
EVGA always provided the best. Sadly their pricing here is just astronomical now. Not their fault, its just how they are valued in Norway.
Yup big part of why I bought a B grade from OCUK. I have three months to find out if there is anything wrong with it, and then I can move onto Asus. Obviously not as good as a brand brand new with full warranty.
EVGA has a good warranty. But you do pay for it, even in normal times. Plus in the old days you would have to send your GPU back to Germany which was about £30, as they insisted you use UPS. Now though apparently Scan handle it (which I don't know whether I would be happy or terrified about, given their sucky attitude on faulty returns).
Either way prices still have a ways to go. In the UK it's only really Gigabyte getting all aggressive so far. They are doing the cheapest 6800XT in the UK for £649. I think AMD have more to lose by not selling cards quickly. Chances are theirs cost them much more to make, given they went with TSMC and paid for the privilege. Nvidia IMO still have a ways to go, so definitely 100% DO NOT listen to this belmet.

"I was just tipped off by a little birdie". Yeah, most certainly Jacob at EVGA getting Jay to pimp their cards so they can sell as many now at higher prices as possible. Funny how the video leads into him going on EVGA's site and pointing out the super low prices.
It's also funny how he says he has never seen Nvidia do this before. Funny because he either wasn't born when the 400 series came out or seems to have amnesia. But, for those that don't remember it went like this.
Nvidia launched the GTX 480 at £450. Within three months it was less than half that, as no one wanted it. The 470 launched at £350. I got one 7 weeks after launch for £170.
If he thinks prices won't continue to fall? he is clearly high. I understood this when I paid £720 for my 6800XT. However, in my defence? the 6800XT can drop to £500 and I would still have done good, given I specifically needed one with a 240mm water cooler on it.
But I reckon by the time all is said and done? you'll be getting 3080s for about £500 or less. I know Nvidia are leaking rumours that they are delaying the launch of the 40 series due to high stocks, but at the end of the day once they do launch the 40 series prices will fall to the ground due to the way people's brains work. It's amazing how many people are saying that current GPUs are all "EOL" and etc. Funny people seem to forget how well they perform even with new ones coming out LOL. That doesn't all of a sudden fall off a cliff because a new one is out.
But yeah of all of the videos I have seen? Jay is the *ONLY* one saying to buy now. Absolutely every one else is saying wait and force Nvidia's hand. So I reckon something is going on behind closed doors.
