Opera is now FREE!

The popular web browser Opera is now free.

Opera ASA decided on the move after the massive amount of downloads that themselves and their mirrors recieved during their recent 10th anniversary offer has led them to the conclusion that they could quite easily take on rival Firefox and attempt to become the Worlds number 2 internet browser. The company will now generate revenue by utilising a Google search function in the browser.

Every time an Opera user does a Google search and clicks on advertising posted by Google, Opera will get a percentage of the ad revenue.

yea i saw this downlaoded it yesterday and it just didnt fit, theres just something which makes it not nice to use, its like its got a mind of its own, opening links in new tabs, click on a word it highlights it and opens a drop down box, what about those of us who are too drunk to read tihngs normally so have to highlight it, we dont want a drop down box. grrrr, not switching.

Hehe, sounds like you've been having some fun with inadvertant mouse gestures!

Admittedly, it takes a while to get useed to if you're switching from IE or even FF, but once you're there you're there

I do tend to run a slightly more minimalist toolbar than normal, which I find helps most of the people that I know use it...

Im on mozilla Firefox 1.5 Beta...

stable as the day is long, and not sure what, but its better than firefox 1.06 etc

Been using opera for years now, by far my favourite browser, fast, neat and secure
