Due to an imminent upgrade I will have a couple (3) computers going spare - hopefully in a few weeks time.
1 * Athlon XP 3200+, 1GB Memory, 4 hard disks (2 * SATA, 1 * PATA, 1 Unused / Spare (eh? - whats that doing in there?)), Wireless, Asus Mobo, NVidia 6600 GPU. Complete and working. No screen, keyboard & mouse all in a CM Midi tower case (I think). Will probably have a DVD Rom and almost certainly an external DVD Writer. Has a slight tendency to overheat in high ambient temperatures but I have this suspicion that this could be solved by tidier cabling (fragtek look away) and better airflow. Current solution is to switch air conditioning on in room.
1 * Celeron @ 2.1GHz, 512MB memory. CD Writer, 120GB HD. No screen, keyboard or mouse. Probably Asus Mobo, same case as above
1 * Other - Althlon at about 2500 I think (can't check right now), usual memory / HD / Graphics for the time. This is a Fujitsu branded PC with upgraded graphics (so they are actually useful). No screen keyboards or mice.
No software or warranty of any kind whatsoever - but all three are working at the moment - and the disks would be scrubbed. I do not want to just throw them out and the process of selling etc is just too much hassle to go through as if they went wrong shortly afterwards I would feel guilty. Quantities of dust and other airborne detritus are included and mandatory.
I will repeat - no screens, keyboards, mice or software.
Location is Slough in Berkshire (UK). Pick up, by arrangement, only after availability is confirmed (i.e. when upgrades complete, tested, installed and working). Price is £0,000.00 (nothing, nada, zero, diddly squat, zip etc)
Its either give them away or throw them away and it seems offensive to throw away working equipment just because its a bit old.
My ideal "purchaser" would be someone who knows a lot more about over clocking than I do (not difficult) who can spend a bit of time explaining and helping me out with one of the new machines (which should be very over clockable). But I am not that fussy
I am posting here to gauge interest (if there is any) but my timescales for the 3 new machines are as follows:
1. 2 Weeks ago - couriers dropped the case. Mountain Modes Duality case
2. Benched (on dining room table) and working at the moment - testing - also going in above case when it arrives.
3. Ordered. Due to arrive in a couple of weeks as parts - I am building this one for my lodger who is "donating" machine 3 above.
Ideally I would like to give these to someone who could use them (or knows someone who could use them).
Regards,
Sean
P.S. For those who would like to know the new machine specs they are simplistically as follows:
1. C2D X6800 Extreme, 4GB, Twin WC loop, 88000GTX, Twin Raptor 150GB etc. This is being made for me by Marci @ Over-Clock UK.
2. C2D X6800 Extreme on air, 2GB, moderate ATI graphics card, 500GB HD
3. AthlonX2 AM2 6000+, 4GB, 8800GTS, 500GB HD - on air
