I've been having this problem for a while now and tried fixing this problem myself (well with suggestions from a few of you
)...
Basically what happens is: at certain times, when I alt tab or quit games, my PC totally shuts down and reboots. I then do a chkdsk and it finds errors in the file system and needs a chkdsk /f to fix - I do this but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Eventually the problems get worse and CSS and other things start dissapearing....
I have bought a new HDD, and installed programs 1 by 1 as I have suspected some programs, but it then did the same with minimal stuff installed. I have now formatted the new drive 3 times (I've tried quick and normal format)
.
This all started happening when I clocked my rig from 2.49 to 2.67. I moved it back to 2.49 and also tried resetting the CMOS to absolute default running at 2GHZ but it still happened!!!
I'm sorry if I've posted too much here but I am trying to pass everything across as I'm out of ideas and REALLY stressed :banghead:. There's a few settings in BIOS I am unsure of and Ham suggested that there was a way to print screen them? If there isn't I can take pictures of the pages I am unsure of....
Please
