OCZ today unveiled their PC2-8500 Reaper HPC Series. The 2GB dual channel kit features the proprietary OCZ Reaper HPC (Heat Pipe Conduit) heatspreader, engineered to deliver superior silent heat dissipation over traditional heatspreaders. Care to comment? Feel free to do so below...

Now there's a memory kit i can get excited about............ a bit anyway. All manufacturers seem to be making theses heatpipe systems which are optimized for when the modules are flat, not vertical like they will be in 90% of systems, the Dominator HS is the most logical i've seen, the heatpipe system is just a waste of space, all that gap that could be filled with more fins that conduct to the out area just as well as a pipe...... seems a bit stupid / gimmicky

Looks decent.... Good memory, funky heatsink system though it might work better than your conventional heatspreader.

I'd actually like to see OCZ start using some of their old heatspreaders. The big thick chunky ones used on the DDR Platinum series. Made you feel like you was actually getting your money's worth.

I quite like the spreaders with the holes...pretty effective imo
