OCZ Technology Unveils The PC2-9200 FlexXLC With Hybrid Cooling Solution

OCZ Technology has released their latest performance RAM - OCZ DDR2 PC2-9200. Not only is this reputed to be the fastest RAM available @ 1150 MHz, but it has provision for either passive cooling or as part of a watercooled setup. It's a great idea, but it'll be interesting to see how much of a flow killer that heatsink is in a watercooled setup. Any takers? An impending review perhaps? Feel free to coment below...

Now that is some SERIOUS memory, daaang. However I don't like the integrated watercooling, it's completely useless if it only goes through one bar at the very top of the RAM....
 
IMO just those sexy heatsinks should do the job well enough. Will be interesting to se what kind of barbs u can slap on the spreaders tho and how much they restrict flow.

It looks like it's about the equivalent of sucking a golf ball through a garden hose... You would really want a second loop for it IMO, a loop for your chipset & ram alone.
 
now thats some snazzy memory. i think if they designed the water block to pass water over the whole row of chips it would end up too wide to fit next to any other memory

we should (SHOULD) have these Friday and my first job is to pull one apart to see what barbs will fit :D
 
I love the idea of having everything watercooled.. and with good enough blocks theres no reason it cant work.. would be better if they were made for 3/8" or 1/2" though.. i mean these look like 1/4" or whatever which very few people use as far as i know..
 
first thing that comes to mind is restriction.

That and a 120mm placed over the RAM would affect more of a cooling area then the concentrated area at the top of the ram. Way to much money.
