occt

Tripp

too many shrooms
just wondering what i should have switched on, when testing an overclock with occt with an amd fx chip

I just choose the test unit that picks up errors rather than heat (small or large - one or the other!) and leave on automatic.

It will stop when an error is detected. Also will stop when temps get silly. You can always lower the temp to stop at.

yeah just had temps get silly an shut down, had a minor heart attack when i went to boot up again an it wouldnt boot. so i cleared the cmos an not am booted up back to what i was at before the overclocking started, need to pull my heart from my throat i swear ughhhhhh nearly needed new undies there haha.

first OCCT with a large data set and all cores and for few hours

then

OCCT linpack: 90% memory, 64 bit, avx compatible and all logical cores.

test will bring your CPU to it's knees and test your cooling is enough.

I have an AX850w Corsair, so i think i should be fine . thanks for the input Guv

haha yeah i know the pics i posted were from stock, no overclock on at all fella.

Did you disable cool and quiet? Still need to manually set volts etc.

if 4ghz is a turbo speed the MHz can go up and down as needed.

Youve not really posted enough info for us to be able to say properly.

Did you read/watch Tom's overclocking guide?

You can skip the reading but watch the first 20mins of the video at how to get your rig at stock, really handy. I've written down a page of notes and will give it a blast tomorrow to get my rig at it's real stock.

yeah its at stock volts 1.32v, an yeah i have read that guide multiple times an the same with the vid

Your answer is always in the BIOS - if its not right then youve not set it up properly.

fsb:200mhz
nothbridge:2200mhz
ht link:2600mhz
clock ratio: x20
turbo mode: off
cpu unlock: off
cool+quiet: off
c1e: off
svm: off
core 6 state: off
hpc: on
xmp: on
dram:1.500v
ht link:1.200v
nb/pcie/pll voltage: 1.800v
cpu pll:2.500v
northbridge:1.100v
load-line calibration :high

there all of my setting in the bios, theres nothing that jumps out at me as being wrong
