Well we have been OC3D for a while and with NoL and Melted Duron Joining our ranks along with Fragtek: we have decided to make an OC3D World Record Benchmarking Team.

We're looking for others to help these Hardcore overclockers go and get some records

Remember WR's can be almost any chip whithin reason and can be on air, water or phase.

yea, me and ham are up for doing air, between us theres pretty much no tool or material we dont have

Well i could see my opty getting one of the highest stable clocks on air on stock volts

And i could see my Corsair Value select doing quite good aswell.

You'd have to get above 3.2GHz on air to get WR I think...though it may be more.

Does a WR have to be stable? Because i can boot at 3.2 on air with my Opty.

there is "bios stable", "windows stable" and "prime stable" (24hrs) benches

Suicide clock speeds, yes Usuable clock speeds no, hehe.

There are records based upon CPU, but for cooling categories, it's the absolute top speed, regardless.

CPU-Z Verification seems to be the general check, though sometimes they want SP1M or SP32M stable

thats stupid, it must be percentage based otherwise someone could buy a 4GHz intel and put it up to 5 and say 'oo i win' with a 25% OC, whereas somone could take a 1GHz athlon get it to 2.5 (150%) and not win

And this is why the serious overclockers grab the latest/best chips as soon as they come out - so they can break the WR for the highest clock speeds

not really, but there are categories for chips and the 100% OC club.

Its not good enough, you need prime for a good WR
