Does the 'steel' button act as a windows key during normal usage? Lack of a windows key would unfortunately drive me mad, use many of the shortcuts it offers countless times a day.
No, it doesn't work as "Windows" key; it enables the 4 Multimedia keys (Steel+F1 to Steel+F4). Anyways, the Steelseries 6G v2 does have a Windows key on the right side.
I have this keyboard for 8 months now - bought last Christmas -, and I can't be happier! 8 months old and it looks just like brand new! I'm a really heavy gamer, really, I play a lot and usually, the keyboards WASD, Shift and Ctrl (Strg) keys letters disappear in 3 months, like in my old Roccat Valo keyboard. This sucks and looks really ugly too. Fortunately, Roccat sent me a replacement set of those 6 keys for free but, not every company does that, right.
Now, I use only the 6Gv2 for playing FPS and RPG games.
I must add the 6Gv2 doesn't have macro keys and so, if you play MMO games like WoW and you use/need a bunch of macros, this keyboard is not the best option for you.
As I posted before, I got the 6Gv2 last year and the keys - all the keyboard, for that matter - are still perfect! 6Gv2 (and 7G) really is a keyboard meant for WAR!
