Yeah, i'm not quite sure how they actually test that it's going to last that long...but needless to say the unit is going to be quite reliable :)
 
XMS, i wonder more how long the fan will last.

the longest i have seen sofar was 100.000hours and the fan in question had ceramique bearings.

similar is used in high quality eheim waterpumps and works GREAT in water which lessens the friction.

guessing oil is used for fans.
 
I believe they also do 500/600w versions. I wouldnt mind giving one of the higher wattage ones ago, to see if this efficiency & stability runs thru the whole range.
 
Yep, there are 500W and 600W versions. 500W retails for about $105 and the 600W for about $135 right now. Both boastin pretty high efficiency which is pretty cool... Strange that the 430W isn't listed on CM's US site...
