The mounting method is horrid, it really is a four arm operation. Shame really considering there really isn't any need to do that way.

So many companies use horrible mounting systems don't know why they think its ok in this day an age. If this cooler was 30 pounds I would by one but not at that price despite its looks.

I installed one of these fans last week for one of my mates and TBH the installation process nearly drove me crazy so I think you should include that point in your overall review ( performance + silence + aesthetics + installation ) with lots of love to OC3Dteam.

On the subject of mounting, will it mount front-to-back on an AMD socket?

On the silence thing, grab a dB meter, do a delta volume over the case fans, then do a Top 5?

No, it will only go vertical on am3.

xigmatek makes a converter for am2/3 to intel 775,,, its called the "Crossbow Ack Ati775 Mounting Kit" that way you could mount in inverse!!! new egg sells it
