It`s not like tech is a new thing these days. The 80s was an absolute explosion as far as computers are concerned, and messing with them.

Yeah, in the 80's there was an explosion... Among the millionaires and scientists. It only became really available in 1995 or so to 'the people' and the enthusiast scene has only been open since ~2000.

Nah, there was a massive computer scene in the 80's, with commodores and spectrums etc. The PC scene did come later though.
