OC 3570k On a Asus Sabertooth Z77

So far i have managed to get my 3570k stable at 4.2, however my board doesn't seem to want to let me oc past 4.2, i have no idea why as i have seen alot of 3570k's at 5GHz, can someone give me their guidance, plus im new to the UEFI bios configs, used to the old kinds.

Go into advanced mode, turn off any auto overclocks.
Then set the multiplier to like 45. Change the volts from Offset to manual, and start at about 1.2v and increase in increments of 0.01 until stable.

That's an incredibly basic way of doing it if you don't entirely know what you're doing.

I shall try this, Im hoping for a stable oc at around 4.7-5 maybe, and as on water i should be ok :/

tried what you said but failed, also i cant seem to find the multiplier, :/ n00b moment!

I cant even upload screenshots because the file has to be 50kb or less, :/

Switch from EZ-Mode to the Advanced-Mode
Go to Ai Tweak Tab

Set ASUS MultiCore Enhancement to Enabled
and the Turbo Ratio to Manual.

There you have your Multi's :P

Did Exactly as you instructed but my cpu only seems to clock at 4.1 on load :/ and i have done everything correct
 
I will create a BIOS Savefile for you tomorrow.

In the meantime check your CPU-Temps on FullLoad,
cuz CPU Clocks down @ certain Temps.
 
CPU Load Temps are ranging between 35-50, then goes down to about 45, so load temps are not an issue for me, as i am running on water.

Edit: Even when i go back into the bios the multiplier has been dropped to 41 after i have tried 45 and vcore at 1.2v and ram cpu ratio at 100:100 but its a pain!

I am running an x79 sabertooth so might be a bit different in the bios but I will explain the way I did my overclock.

Ok first off if you are running the asus auto overclock turn that off.

Then go the ai tweaker tab at the top.
Scroll down until you see "Cpu vcore voltage". Set to "manual".
Then underneath a dialog box should be there saying "cpu vcore manual voltage". Set this to your desired voltage.

Next is to go to "cpu performance settings" under the same tab, it should be almost directly above the voltage setting.

There you will see a setting called "cpu ratio". Set this to 45 or whatever ratio of 100x "X" to achieve your desired overclock ie for 4.5ghz set it to 45.

You may want to turn off speedstep at first. You can turn it back on if you do not want your cpu to be on max overclock even at idle. I would recommend trying to get stable with it off first then its just a minor tweak to the voltage if its not stable when you turn it back on.

Reboot and see if it gets into windows. If you succeed then stress test using something like Intel burn test or prime 95 etc and watch your temps.

If it fails during stress testing just bump up the voltage and keep doing this until stable. I recommend testing for around 30-45 mins before declaring it stable and going for a good long test ie 12 hours or so.

If your overclock fails to even boot then bump up the voltage.

Sometimes when mine failed it reset my overclock settings so just put back in the ratio and voltages so write them down somewhere so you know where you were last. Alternatively you can save profiles under the tools tab and just reload that one if it reset your settings.

You may also want to put the power settings into "high".

This is very basic and there is more to look into once your happy with the base settings to get a better overclock.
 
Tried All of that, and still the clock will max out at 4.1 :/ i really dont know whats happening, ill go back into bios and take some Screens and you can check my settings.

I'm not an expert or anything but perhaps change that cpu:ram ratio to auto and try it. Set your cpu speed and ram speed manually in the bios. Maybe that is causing a conflict. Its worth a try considering it would only take a few seconds to try.
