Hey guys!

I'm upgrading my rig pretty soon and while im at it, i decided to guide you through it :-)

COMPONENTS:
******************************
CPU: Intel i5 4670k
MOBO: ASUS Maximus VI Gene
RAM: G.Skill RipjawsX 1866MHz 8GB
GPU: ASUS DirectCuII GTX 780
SSD: Samsung 830 128GB
HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB
PSU: Corsair TX850 V1
CASE: Xigmatek Elysium
******************************

WATERCOOLING SETUP FOR CPU:
******************************
CPU BLOCK: EKWB Supreme HF
RADIATOR: EKWB CoolStream XT 360
PUMP: EKWB DCP 4.0
ACCESSORIES: EKWB RES, Noiseblocker XL120 fans, EKWB fittings, PrimoChill Tubeflex Bloodshed red 3/8"
******************************

P.S. I hope you don't mind the Font that i used, i just love Courier New!

So here it begins! The only components that i have atm are SSD, HDD, PSU, CASE and WATERCOOLING LOOP.

Since it has been out of use for some time now, I disassembled CPU block and everything else to clean it, now i have to do leak test to ensure nothing spills on my beloved new components.

I'm using some leftover tubing from previous rig so no, im not going to use that in actual build.

Leak testing in progress....

Theme of my build will be BLACK/RED, so I'm also getting red tubes and coolant.

I have compression fittings from previous rig that are perfectly fine. But they are nickel plated. You think its going to look bad? Also CPU is nickel plated.

I think it will look fine.

I think they look good together anyway, they're both nickel. (Compression fittings are prettier than barbs anyway, but don't let The Guv hear me saying that ;))

red tubes and red coolant? I personally prefer clear tubing and red cooling to avoid having different shades of red. Although I do feel "safer" with clear coolant so nothing builds up on the blocks.

Thats all up in the air... Still some time to decide all the details...

Maniac, damm u, you inspired te to mod my case a little.... At the end of the day i bought Xigmatek Elysium for its behemocy, not looks. I got rid of all the plastic and will make a very simple front plate from 2mm aluminum, with a cutout for two 120/140mm fans, and then another plate on top of it that will serve as filter holder. For all intake fans I will use filter foam that is used for aquarium water filters. Or maybe even stockings??? I don't know about their actual performance, do you? On top of case I will keep the vent mesh, on front side of top i will put another alu plate. It will be very minimalistic.

Nope, I used stockings on one of the fans I did in a mod (red black redemption in the sig), never used the case so I can't really comment on performance.

There, icompletely stripped the case of all unnecessary stuff, removed all plastic parts, except for top mesh. There was reall too much of stuff that i never used. When i design front plate, i will only put on one led for power indication and power button. Nothing else, except for filtering system, that i have to plan out as well.

At the moment, I'm thinking a lot about airflow. I plan on having slightly positive pressure, but im not sure how it will work with my GPU that dumps heat inside of case. PSU will be flipped so it will intake air from inside case. I believe it will dust a lot less this way.

In front i will put 2-3 120mm fans, bottom most probably 2 140mm.
Exhaust will consist of one 140mm in back, PSU and 3 120mm on top rad. I would like everything to be as quiet as possible. Do you think this is too much of positive pressure for my setup?

A little sketch for you...

Your rad has plenty of headroom if its a cpu only loop to take the heat from the video card, i also run a 360 rad for my cpu and the cpu temps dont go up really from my 770 lightning, but then that card doesnt get really hot.

Then again there is nothing stopping you from mounting the rad in the front, unless you have a lot of mechanical hard drives.

Today, I will be making new front plate. Stay tuned!

Mock up taped on front and top plate. Still need proper mounting and lots of drilling. It will be mesh style in the end.

One angle

And another...
