Nzxt H440

Hey guys,

So I've gotten a question from a mate of mine regarding the H440 and after doing some research on it, I've started to fall in love with it a bit.

Now what I'm wondering about, after quickly watching Linus old video on it, would Corsair AF fans be starving in the front as in take fans?.

And would there be any difference overall in terms of cooling, between 3 x 120's vs 2 x 140's AF?.

Thanks,
Chrazey

You would be best off removing the grills on the side thats for sure. Its not going to be starved for air.

As for the 2x140 vs 3x120. Generally more = better. It really comes down to what the individual fans are capable of though.

Its not starved for air, i run all the fans in this case + 2 roof exhaust on 7 volts, airflow is fine, temps during a heatwave are good and its dead silent while doing it, running a msi 970 and a 4.2ghz oc on the 3570k and it never misses a beat or goes hot.

Where did I say it would be starved for air... At read what you are quoting...

Suggesting to remove the grills, implying that if not, it might starve for air, and thats simply not true.

There is quite a difference with the grills on and with them off. Read the rest of the post you quoted instead of only the part you want to pick on.

I dont mind peiple correcting me when I am wrong. I am just not in the mood for people who dont bother reading my post properly before jumping the gun.

Google what best off means.

Alright boys, calm down... So which would I be best off with then?:

3 x 120 AF's or 2 x 140 AF's as intakes in the front?...

Its up to you. Do you prefer cooling or noise? The 3x120 setup will likely net you better airflow than the 2x140 setup whilst adding a tiny bit of noise. Probably wouldnt even be noticeable in the H440 or any other case.

Though the stock fans are pretty decent as they are. So if the owner is budget conscious then just leave it as is.

Apologies, jumped the gun a bit, salty day, it happens!

No hard feelings ^^

Btw, what "grills" are you guys talking about really?... I don't think you mean the HDD cages right?.

The ones in the roof or front panel.

If you get the newer H440 they are bigger anyways because of all of the girls moaning about airflow when the H actually stands for hush and it was built to be quiet

And how do I know if it's a new one or not?...
