Nvidia's RTX 5090 could feature two 12V-2x6 power connectors

i dont get this. I thought its supposed to be more efficient and far less power hungry. Or is this their dirty admittance that the original design could not handle the power load and two connectors is the answer to cables melting?

They always talk about better power efficiency. They also always manage to crank up the power requirements because it's easier to achieve higher performance when you require more power. They've done this for every generations top end card.
