Poor Nvidia. Shamed by both themselves and a competitor significantly smaller than they are.
Still, based on the die size, this should be a 4070 or even a 4060Ti. A 4080 is absurd, a 4070Ti is a reach, a 4070 is reasonable, and a 4060Ti is logical. At least that's based on past generations. It's not always an apples to apples comparison, and there have been exceptions in Nvidia's past. I mean, AMD's new RDNA3 chips are changing the way we see die sizes since they contain multiple dies. But if you track Nvidia's history, the 4080 12GB is either a 4060Ti or a 4070.
