It is plainly ludicrous and utterly unsustainable.
The steam servey is not perfect, but it gives a broad look at buying trends. The 1060 and later 1660 cards that dominate were $250 cards.
You can perhaps push those buyers to $300 as a consequence of inflation, but the idea that people who spent that in droves, will suddenly start spending double is risible.
Intel are making progress maybe in 2 gens they will have caught right up and if you wanted a budget card they are worth trying atm, thou i feel amd do give them a run for the money with the 6700's.
Nvidia will soon change tatics once the other two are taking market share and realistically there will be a price war but idk if intel can afford too just yet.
These prices suck thou just as you say intel or 2nd hand last gen, no one needs these cards.
the digital camera market has reduced more than 50% in the last decade and is no monopoly now.
the individual companys just sell less volume.
nvidia needs to learn a lesson.
nvidia is the company with the biggest share of the gaming market. it would hit them harder.
especially when the customers switch to consoles with AMD GPU´s.
when gamers don´t buy nvidia and they suddenly have less revenue it sure helps more to hammer the message home than the sheeps buying overpriced GPU´s.
so no.. i am not saying i want a monopoly, not even close.
