i have money burning a hole in my pocket since 2019 for updating one of my systems.


but i am not paying stupid, insulting prices for GPU´s.

My 12GB 3060 could do with an upgrade, but to only get 3070 performance for an extra £500... no thanks.


Now for £200-£250 yes it would be worth it, I could put the 3060 in my Jellyfin server and finally get hardware transcoding, and a slight improvement for my gaming PC.

Nvidia is going to try really, really, really super-duper hard to get under $500. And if all they can manage is $1, we have to give them credit for that. To some people, a $1 is $1. I heard that said once.

At this point to save face on the 4080 12gb/4080 16GB mess, it would have been nice to see this conversation as "4060ti to deliver 3070 performance under $400" ($399) as a minimum.

It is popular to slam Nvidia now a days but I think the 4060ti at $350 would have gotten them some praise for once.
