Nvidia's next generation of GPUs are rumoured to be a Pascal Refresh and not a new GPU architecture.

This goes against what a member of the press with 'inside sources' is saying. They have stipulated that at GTC May 2017 nVidia will reveal their Volta architecture with "up to 48GB of HBM2". I personally don't trust or like the (major) site that published this, but it could be true.
They have revealed their volta architecture. And it is going into something named after me.
"NVIDIA introduces Xavier SoC based on Volta - for Autonomous Transportation"
Not surprised. "We spent multiple billions of dollars on Pascal" that they always reference(which is stupid considering that's what every GPU/CPU costs) so they may as well milk it for what they can
Im sure they did it with keplar 6/7 series and owning a gtx1080 myself you can see that this architecture is being held back and has a lot more to offer
Really, each GPU/CPU costs multiple billions of dollars?... Damn!:
R&D and all that. Takes years to create and you got to pay the people creating it. You think Zen was only a couple million? Lol nope. Significantly higher.
So if each GPU and CPU costs literally MULTIPLE BILLIONS of dollars, do they can that back from the costs of the like 1070 and 1080's then? If you get what I mean and getting at?...
To date since Nvidia began in 1993, their R&D expense stands at $1.86B with their total income revenue at $5.01B pretty impressive numbers.
You can check out their financial status here http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/nvda/financials
idk where you got those numbers from. Because one look at the link, and since 2012(5yr span) there R&D is over $5billion alone
And last year alone they made $5.01B?
edit: Might have misread something?? I'm not sure, but I definitely know they are a yearly multi-bill business and have been for I think nearly 10 years now if not longer?
Yeah that's how I read it. 5 Billion in sales last year. 1.3 Billion a year give or take on R&D. Net income (profit) 400+ Million.
That's a lot of GPU's! I wonder how many top tier GPU's are sold each year? Must be in the millions..
