Nvidia's may be preparing an RTX 3080 Ti to combat the Radeon RX 6000 series.

A joke?

Nvidia preparing anything new is currently pointless, the cards they have already released are impossible to get.

Sure, but unless AMD come up with a compelling alternative to the 3080, these are unlikely to appear until current 3080 supply issues are resolved sometime in (hopefully) Q1 2021.

Yeah, it would be really silly of Nvidia to release a 3080Ti now when so few can get a 3080 and the 3090 has such high profit margins.

I hope this isn’t true.

Given that Scan, a single UK etailer has £3Million worth of 3080 and 3090 backorders awaiting fulfilment, if they were to divulge this now it would not only be stupid, but it’d also be a slap in the faces of thousands of customers who are already putting up with a ridiculous wait.

Nvidia have really dropped the ball on this. It’s great for them from a sales perspective but it’s really poor for a customer service and buying experience.

Well on the plus side if it's a pre order they can simply cancel it and pre order the more expensive card.

The slap in the face will be for users who already have one I guess. And have passed the return window.

That said, I doubt it will be much faster than the 3080 because the 3090 is a tiny bit out ahead any way. So you would literally be paying for VRAM, and I reckon it would be best just to hold tight and wait for next gen. 10gb may just be enough to last until then.

Of course the ultimate slap in the face with a mouthful of gob would be if they ditch Samsung and go TSMC, and then the driver support fell off a cliff for the Samsung GPUs.
