Nvidia's latest driver is ready for Halo Reach and Quake II RTX 1.2

Quite curious if Microsoft are eventually going to go and switch over to just allowing DCH drivers considering Nvidia have started to offer them as a download and Windows installs them as default VGA drivers, Either way, The Nvidia sharpening in OpenGL and Vulkan games should be quite nice.

Need a quick recap of Image Sharpening, please :headscratch: The picture says "faster performance". So does it increase performance or affect it at all?

Its a feature over which a lot of over-hyped fuss has been made but in reality is practically unnoticble when actually playing a game. The ONLY real use for it is in static screenshots,IMO

..in answer to your question, sharpening filters will always usually result in a (tiny) performance hit.

Basically you can render at a lower res and Nvidia can stretch it to higher resolutions and use sharpening to claw back some detail.

They realised that AMD has a great feature in FidelityFX and Radeon Image Sharpening and decided to steal the idea.

Okay thank you, guys! So I could try lowering the rendering resolution and enable image sharpening to gain more fps while sacrificing less fidelity than I'd have to.
