nVidia always looking for ways to reduce costs. There gtx range atm have so many more transistors in the core than the Ati competition, matching Ati's prices would eat into nVidias profits considerably.
Putting 2 core on one pcb is the smarter choice. A big chunk of manufacturing costs will be cut off the gtx295.
If this card does come out, I bet shortly after Ati will definatly bring out a HD4890X2 which should whoop a gtx295's ass.:awhip:
