Both AMD and Nvidia should have switched to someone else about 1.5 years ago after the 20nm TSMC process went from bad to skipped... I hope AMD's high management make a good decision this time as it might be a final nail in the coffin.

I know this will never happen but.. you'd figure Intel could really really make some money off deals like these. They got the fabs to do so. They are working on 10nm.. no one else could say that.

But in reality TSMC has been struggling. They should have canned 20nm when it went bad and focused on 16nm.

TSMC?...

As hmmblah said they are a fab. Fab meaning they fabricate/create designs. Example, Nvidia/AMD both show TSMC there designs and then they communicate on which node to make them on, make prototypes, more prototypes, etc. until they make a consumer product like a 290x. Pretty sure they also make PCBs for them too, though i could be wrong. Never looked into that side of things.
