A damning leak on the performance of the 5070ti and the 5080. Nvidia are almost forcing themselves to have another "super' release lineup given how this series really is just a software upgrade for the 4XXX series.
In a way though, it's not as depressing as it could be because we're at a stage now where we don't need tons more performance. We can now run 4k/144Hz with reasonable settings on a 70-class GPU in 90% of games. This is why I'm not super averse to things like upscaling or frame generation or RT; because they are nice optional additions to what is already a capable selection of GPUs. My hope is that game developers will try to now use the stagnancy of GPU development as an opportunity to focus on quality and performance over throwing the kitchen sink at it without any consideration for performance or benefit. I know some will rely on fake frames and not spend time creatively trying to optimise the game engine, but I think some developers will.
