Nvidia RTX 3000 series launch details leaked - A September launch is expected

These releases will mostly come before the release of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

Are they worried people will see they could buy an Xbox Series X & PS5 with a some games, for less than the cost of a 3080Ti....:D

Faster than consoles?

With a cost of 1-2 times the price of a entire console (you still need a fast PC) this better be WAAAAY faster to make any sense.

Assuming the GPU part of the console is half of it's total cost then a next gen console GPU is $250-$300.

What is then fair to expect of a new $999 - $1199 GPU?

I'd say around 3 times perfomance.

But consoles use custom made APUs which aren't directly comparable to a dedicated GPU.

You need to realize that both Sony and Microsoft are selling console hardware lower than the actual price. That is because they will get that money back from games. Nvidia needs to earn money from hardware only.

And I expect that PC will be a much better gaming experience.

It will be like it is now. Consoles get great looking games at 30 FPS and PC gets unlocked framerate and way more bells and whistles.

Nvidia new GPUs come at least one month before AMD's (end of October, November). Better be great products if they want to sell any GPU, last time Nvidia had the advantage releasing 2070S/2060S knowing how RDNA1 performed.

I think they are. Which is why it would be wise to wait for consoles and/or AMD cards and see if Nvidia will be forced to lower the original price.
