If it is real it doesn't surprise me too much. Why? I have explained it before. The 40 series cards that were out that beat all of the 30 series cards were direct competition TO the 30 series cards. Jen did not want to release any of them, these are facts you can verify looking around. There are even videos on the subject, as he admitted to his shareholders that there was still absolute tons of 30 series cards left, and the whole "Manipulate the market" spiel. How do you still get top dollar for your old stock? easy, make the new prices so revolting that only true die hards will buy, and you can then clear the decks.
If this is true? then it is clear that the decks are clearing, and he can finally release a card that is cheaper and not scupper his own sales.
The funny thing is? with 5 minutes of research people could have found this out themselves, and refused to fall into his trap. Once again though? they did.
The price hike over the 3070 seems about right too, as it isn't Samsung. Problem is that price is a pipe dream unless you can get a FE card any way, as the board partners will charge what they like regardless of the FE price.
Well regardless of all the issues we know of the prices are still too high even at 500 this is still higher than we were used too but since they dont have direct crypto sales now and love AI you all need to pay for it cause they are struggling right lol
Arc/amd at the low end and at the higher end pick your poison.
the mid range thou isnt good atm.
for me nothing is worth buying this gen the 6800XT is just to solid and if you had a 3000 series card you don't need it, it's the people that are on something older that are still looking for better prices, it's not going to happen thou.
As I still have a 4770K, I'll probably get a new platform first and invest in a new GPU later on. Maybe the 5000 series will have better pricing *insert clown emoji here*
