I really love my 980ti... I kind of want a second one, but I think I'm going to wait for the 1080ti, preferably the ASUS Matrix version. If I upgrade anything this year it'll probably be going to one of the 10-core Intel cpus that are on the way.

Nvidia trying its best again to have us spend more money. It's doubtful that the game will be that hard to run considering how many gaming laptops(970m grade which is about the same as a 960) at CES were able to max it out.

I do hope that SLI is available so that I can run this at 3440x1440 at 100fps via G-sync. The last Tomb Raider game was really good, no reason to think that this won't be.

I don't use any AA with 1080p, even if I do its very hard to see the graphical difference, with the level of graphic fidelity these days AA is becoming redundant unless of cause your still using 800 x 600 potato resolution.

Hope this has a built in benchmark like the 2013 TR.

Also anyone heard if this will be using TressFX or some Nvidia version ?

I heard a rumour it was the same only improved and was now called "HairFX" or something like that.

TBH dude I think it's the same engine, pretty much same everything so it should work just as well as the last one. I don't think Nvidia have had any input other than asking for copies of it to sell with their cards as they knew how popular the first one was.

At least that's what I'm hoping. The engine didn't need any changes IMO still holds up to any game today in the prettiness department.

As much as I liked the Nvidia FX in Batman I really hope there aren't any in ROTTR as we all know they cripple performance even on Nvidia cards and don't really add much in the way of eye candy minus the Batman games which do benefit.

Yeah I am praying it's not a Gamedoesn'twork title.

I also found Hairworks in Witcher 3 to be nowhere near as pretty as TressFX and needed ten times more power in order to run properly.

So with any luck it's just a tarted up version of TressFX and the engine and all of the wonderful support it had is intact.

I want the DVD version but it's not available for pre order so I am going to have to give it a few days before I can play it but I don't mind. It'll give me some time to read reviews and look at performance figures while I wait :)

Am I the only one that thinks the Nvidia needs to kill off SLI and focus on single GPU performance, you know, especially if they're not going to put the work in to actually supporting the ing thing.

No mention of SLI on TR probably means that they don't have anything ready or optimised for SLI. Fallout 4, which is an Nvidia Gameworks title doesn't support SLI properly (or at all). Arkham Knight, another Gameworks title, has had SLI support completely removed from the equation.

Then you look at other titles, like AC Syndicate that support SLI but where updates to the game have broken its implementation so that it doesn't play well with post processed AA and what have you.

Why in gods name, aside from E-Peening high framerate numbers, would you want to drop a tonne of cash on two GPUs just to have to put up with this crap? You can't even blame it on the developers - its not their responsibility to make it play nice with two GPUs because that is not the common development model. It's the GPU designer and frankly, Nvidia are just not doing a good enough job are they?

Because all you play is GTA V with Ultra Grass and it runs absolutely epic with 1, 2 or 3 cards. Same story with everything else i've played too, Gameworks or otherwise and for benchmarking too. I've always had an SLI setup and been pleased with the results but admittedly I make no attempt to play every title in existence.

Not really sure what your response was saying. Was it agreeing with my comment or disagreeing - I don't know.

In response to yours, so you're happy with it but presumably you've not tried to play any of the games I've cited. If you did, your £1000+ GPU investment would provide you with practically no benefit compared to someone who's paid half what you have.

What surely does not make sense, even to you - someone who seems quite happy with their SLI - is that Nvidia aren't even optimising SLI profiles for Nvidia Gameworks games. So even games that sport "The way it's meant to be played" slogans don't get optimised for SLI. So essentially Nvidia take the money you spent on or more additional GPUs and, instead of spending resources, time and money into making sure those titles run superbly on multi-GPU systems, they instead spend it on a marketing deal with the developer and publisher to sell more GPUs.

He's right ya know, won't even play Rocket League

Still its a 100% valid point.

It's not there responsibility, it's there job. Devs are a part in this it's not all on Nvidia or even AMD. They need to tell there engines on how to take advantage of using multiple GPUs. Otherwise if they don't there's no point in having AMD or Nvidia release a profile for it as it won't make a difference. Look at Company of Hero's. It's been the cream of the crop as an example since they came out that no matter what Nvidia or AMD do, the engine simply doesn't give 2 ***** and will either give you no performance, or decrease the performance as well. So don't go whining on about it being Nvidia's fault. Nvidia/AMD/Devs all work together, it's everyone's job to get it working and it starts with the Devs and there engines.
