This could signal the final demise of 8GB GPUs. Nvidia and AMD don't make bargain GPUs any more, and that's realistically where 8GB of VRAM belongs. If they continued to make $150 GPUs, I'd say it's fair to keep 8GB models running. But they don't, so 12GB should be the absolute minimum, with 16GB being the standard for XX60 class GPUs. XX60Ti models should really even have more than 16GB moving forward if possible.
