Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER appears to be getting a 16GB memory upgrade with AD103 silicon. A GDDR6 RTX 4070 is also reportedly incoming.

They are downgrading the VRAM from GD6x to regular GDDR 6.

Meaning the cost shouldn’t rise any, and could even go down if they want to compete with AMD. This is the most important segment of the market because it is what people mostly buy.

Case in point? The 7800XT sold out in less than two days in the USA and Scan sold all of their RRP or very close to it cards in the UK within a week. The only ones left were the Asus cards.

So they can’t jack the price too much and they must compete if they want to retain gamers. Who are now their backup plan so I can’t see them ridding themselves of that any time soon, even if it seems like a burden.
