Nvidia has announced their GTX 1080Ti GPU

11(!!)GB and 352-bit bus - they've literally just software-disabled that extra GB and 32-bits to segment the market - there's no way this is even remotely new - oh well at least it is cheaper than the TXP.

There may be no new tech here - but performance/dollar just changed significantly.

Amazing tech is nice and all, but if you cannot afford it (Titan) then it really does not matter much.

I'm wondering if sli 1080 is worth it now that a lot of people will be upgrading. Is sli still relevant or are developers not bothering with it anymore?

You're going to buy it anyway. Bets are on! ;)

Nope, I actually find this card to be a real kick in the balls for Titan XP owners who have shelled out £1200 for pretty much the same card but with 1GB more memory.

Such business behavior I can't condone hence the 1080 will be my last Nvidia card.

I won't be software disabled, the physical 1GB of GDDR5X will not be there.

Good luck to anyone who buys the card.:)

As a Titan owner I am quite happy with my cards with the extra memory ROPs and bus plus I have had the use of them for the last seven months.

I would recommend anyone buying the 1080 Ti going for a non reference cooler solution or fitting waterblocks for best performance.

PLE has it listed already and you are right 1199 for the founders edition
Australia Tax.... Makes you wonder whether retailers are getting a huge mark up (doubt it) or how much is the distributor/manufacturer setting the pricing here.

Supply and demand though it's the western way.

Not impressed and not surprised. It's like they thought what shall we do, hmm, let's just remove this and this, done! Not a very imaginative card this iteration. Bring on Volta please.

Pops out to ladbrokes :D:D:D

Way too much on this year to justify a £600 outlay for 35% more GPU performance over a 1080, I'm moving at the end of May, Going to Berlin in June and then again in September and then the end of November I'm going to Texas for 4 months helping a friend with his ranch so every penny counts this year unless I get some stupidly lucky lotto win or massive bonus at work and both are unlikely.

Would be good to add a column that included the 980ti for easy reference, now I have to go hunt those figures out.

I'm only messing with you Dice :) still the 1080ti has come out at a better price than I expected to. I was thinking more on the £800 side

£700 plus water cooling it (or you may as well stick to your 1080).

Still does nothing for me. I mean yeah it's cheaper than I expected it to be (can't believe I am saying a £700 GPU that will be worth nothing in a year is cheap in any context) but doesn't do anything for me really. I've got the water too, just don't fancy going skint for three months to get it.

Custom cooled cards will probably cost up to £800, but at least they may stop the throttling the TXP had and allow it decent clocks. You will still need water if you want to get every last drop, though.

Also I did LOL a bit at those who bought TXP for £1200 or whatever it was. Mind you, been there before and it's a kick in the stomach I will never forget. Nor repeat. Still, I suppose you need the money to be able to take those kicks.

I know ^_^, Just thought I'd give some context as to why I'm not able to spend any money this year :)

Even if I could get it which I may be able to with some careful budgeting, I want at least a 50% performance increase over the 1080 which means I'd have to wait for Volta anyway but I'm leaning more towards a full AMD system once Vega releases :)
