They would do that. AMD was rumored to launch that same day but later switched the launch date to E3. Nvidia saw the opportunity to grab everyone's money before AMD launch.

Sounds like you're building a behemoth of a rig then!
Make sure to create a project log or rig gallery here on the forums :)

I am currently waiting on overclockers stocking cablemod c-series black/red, and have yet to order some Noctua industrial PPC fans, but once that's done I can build the rig. Unfortunately I didn't think of a build log and have got rid of the case box, I do still have the other ones though. So should be able to do the obligatory box shot.

Here are the specs involved as they will be when built...

CPU: i7-4790K 4.0GHz | CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX + 2x Noctua NF-F12 IPPC (Pull) | Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus VII Ranger Z97 |
RAM: 32GB G.Skill Sniper 1600MHz | GPU: Geforce GTX 690 | SSD1: Samsung SM951 M.2 (via PCIe adapter) | SSD2: Samsung 850 EVO 1TB Sata 3 | HDD: None! |
PSU: Corsair AX860i GTX Platinum rated (with Cablemod C-series Black/Red cables) | Case: Corsair Vengeance C70 - Gunmetal Black Edition | Fans: Noctua NF-F12s / NF-A14s

That's a great list of specs mate! May it serve you well when it's built ;)

I know it's off topic but I want to get this rig built lol. Can anyone help me decide between the Noctua Industrial PPC fans, I can't decide between getting the 2k or the 3k RPMs, or whether to use the 3ks on the H100i radiator, and 2k on the case fans, or use 3ks also on the front intakes to blast at the GPU. Aggghh.

The industrial PPCs are the ONLY noctua fans I like the look off.

Eh, with them so close you'd be foolish to throw your money at the 980 Ti until we see some benches from the 300 series cards. Not to mention, waiting a bit longer allows for special editions of the cards to come out. Classy 980 Ti!

This is exactly what I will be doing, waiting for the best reviewed cooler OC 980ti, which I am sure will outperform a Titan X save for the lesser VRAM.

Yep, I'll go AMD if they are able to beat Nvidia for price to performance but otherwise I'm going to splurge and buy this, likely buy a second one later this year for 4k.. maybe.

That doesn't stop 95% of the people in the market for a new GPU.. you forget most people prefer Nvidia. They hold 76% of the market.

My bank balance and 780ti's are looking a bit nervous right now :).

The 390X from AMD is out of contention at the moment due to it only having 4GB and the AIO watercooler, it just won't fit in my system. I'll still be waiting until they are both released though.

Could have more.. nothing's confirmed. Also may be air cooled versions as well. I don't think the 4GB will be an issue tbh. We just have to see how it all plays out really
