Nvidia G92 Launch Brought Forward?

I`m so confuddled right now.
The 9800gtx planned for Nov/Dec will be a G92 and not G90, and the 8800gt is being brought forward to before Nov 12.
Think I`m maybe reading the rumor articles and allowing them to clash with the factual ones and press-releases.
What I want is a 9800GTX, this, I`m assuming - is just a reference to the forthcoming 8800GT, that`s spec`d between the 8800GTS 320 and the 8800GTS 640, which is going to be the standardized card moving forward (not as good as the older 8800GTX).
Help pls! Corrections where necessary.

Actualy the G90/92 codename is no more valid and they arent planning on releasing their 9800GTX for a while. They have no reason to, so you get this. The D8M or, 8800GT. The 8800GT is going to be released Oct 29th (according to that) and the HD2950pro will wipe it clean i believe.

Think what`s confusing me also is that a G9x generation gpu is going into a G8x named card. I see G9.. I get excited.
If the 9800 is going to be a fair while to release, I`m going to be `settling` for a 8800.
We talking Q1 08 ?

G92 = 8800GT; 320mb GTS replacement.
640mb GTS gets extra shaders.
The 2950xt will be better and should outperform current 640mb GTS and new 8800GT.
9800GTX or whatever it is called is due Dec/Jan IF the RV680 (ati flagship) keeps on track...
In all likelihood no flagship cards will appear until Jan possibly Feb 08.

Can't see AMD products doing any pwning, and if they do it will be a limited thing like the X1950 series. Nvidia have hit the ground running since the 6 series launch
The 2950pro is going to be alot better than the 2900XT, single slot cooler, GDDR4, less power, less heat, smaller die, and is going to be in the $350 (US) range. Thats going to be better than any 8800GTS 640mb im sure of. I like the single slot cooler idea and 2.2ghz GDDR4. Pwnage to me and thats their sample card.

So in summary, the 2950 will beat the lowest highend nVidia card (at that point) - and not exactly "whip it`s arse" ?

IF the 8800GT has 96 shaders etc i.e 320gts style and IF the 2950 is an improved 2900 THEN the 2950 will whip the 8800GT.
Looking at facts, the 2900 isn't that bad, in some instances its an ultra, in others its a 320gts. Improvements on this core mean its an awesome mid range card.

Yea but im thinking the 2950pro will still be cheaper than the 8800GTS 640mb. The HD2900pro can be OCed and possibly flashed to XT speeds so it will make cookie crumbles of this pathetic card as well. Bring on the 9800GTX already.

Plugged in and pitted against each other, that`s another thing. As long as the Ati/Amd cards only wipe the floor in a single field, ala Oblivion, I`d not be overly concerned.
Bet they are cheaper tho, targeted audience models vS price.
