Nvidia Admit Fermi Was Fake

gerat breaking news ther.

I dont think that its anything to get in a state about it.

Should they have done it or waited for an actual working prototype to exist? OR should they have just shown the public what hey have now, the messy wire-every where version?

Show the messy wires everywhere version.

Tis better to be honest about something that looks **** but performs, than lie about something that's already hopelessly delayed and hope that people will believe your performance figures.

And does anyone, anyone at all, care more about Physx and CUDA than they do about absolute FPS?

Makes me lol, just goes to show how professional they are!

Long live ATI imho

+1

After the rebranding of the 8800 series and 9800 (renamed the renamed?O,o), i lost all respect for NVidia...now own a 4870 and will never look back.

ATi ftw.

The problem is they need to live long enough for another company to come round or the EU will hammer ATi for being a monopoly even though there are no other competitors! Lets hope the GT300's get them out of this whole. As much as I hate Nvidia if they can make cards that perform well against the ATi's then they will survive, to be honest they need to be bought by Intel! That would make some very interesting competition in the market, Intel chips with stupidly fast GPUs in them anyone?

Don't see much problem with showing their mock up of what the card will look like, as long as the figures were actually run on a fermi core =S

They only did it to try and steal some of the 5000 series thunder, but they failed monumentaly. Just going from bad to worse on the green team imho

Red blood in my veins, Rasta wont argue, he knows as much as the rest of us do Nvid on on a slippery slope and have been for months. Unless they start making some money we might not have an nvidia as we know it within the next few years.

That does make sense. But still a stupid move.

I couldn't care less what either company do. Whoever makes the fastest cards wins, my allegiance is to performance, not a company.

Nvidia won't die, that kind of talk reminds me of when the G80's were killing everything 'ati are done for etc'. This is just what happens...

Nvidia VS Reality...

Huang: "This puppy here, is Fermi." (From Nvidia Fermi presentation)

Reality: No, it was not, stupid liar. :smileysho

Alibrandi: "...the card showed was an engineering sample..."

Reality: An engineering sample imply a WORKING beta unit. This, clearly was not a working unit, moron. :whack:

Alibrandi: “The Fermi demo that we showed was driven by a Fermi-based Tesla chip. The performance numbers that were displayed, which showed five-times the performance of the current generation Tesla chip, are proof of that..."

Reality: What freaking "proof"?? A "test" ran behind closed door with no witnesses??? LoL In science, proof are presented to all to PEER REVIEW THEM!! You flat lied about the embarrassingly bad mockup, you play with words calling it "an engineering sample" that imply a WORKING beta unit when clearly it was not and on top, you have the audacity to ask us to blindly swallow another lie about tesla numbers? You have the god syndrome or what, idiot? :nutkick:

All this playing around with semantic and poorly phrased truth twisting bullsh*t is so insulting to my intelligence :stickpoke. That PR stunt was pure deception and lies, period. The goal was to obviously to "try" to shift attention from ATI to Nvidia in the hope it would somehow reduce ATI incredible current momentum with the 5000 series and cover the fact Nvidia is desperately behind the DX11 game. 6 to 8 months behind, that is. The sh*t is now hitting the fan, hard. Nvidia FAILED to buy time, they are in fact living on borrowed time as we can learn from many sources all around the web.

I couldn't care less about ATI or Nvidia. I care about respect, truth and the best performance at the lowest price. Even if Nvidia sink, which I think it will, someone will buy the corpse and do something with it. Considering how badly this company is managed, that would be the best option by far in my book.

From my perspective, Nvidia just dropped from notoriously bad to public enemy. :ar:

LMAO, it increasingly makes me giggle how the desperate are so quick to turn anything nVidia related into an aggressive anti-news story.

The card held up, with a name on the side of it, didn't work !!

"FAKE!", lies, shock and horror !! Hide ur children !!

It's a prop for crying out loud.
