Yes apparently Victor W.A.N.G from XS has the first 8800GTX made available in China...lucky man :yumyum: Just how huge is that card? Feel free to comment and drool below, just make sure you clean up after yourself :D

Wow that is a huge card and a nice cooler. That is a huge :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: core. The four molexs look scary.

if thats so that it needs 2 x PCI-E power plugs then PSU manu's are going to have to make PSUs with 4 PCI-E plugs for those of us who want an SLi config

thats just crazyness :dribble:

I think that is why they included the adapters, that way with an sli powersupply you can sub 4 pin molex for 6 pin.

when you buy a new GFX card now you get the molex adapters with all Nvidia cards but i still cant get my head round why it needs 2

one for the fan poss.....

Im confused. One of the pictures (one where you can see the core) has a single PCI-E and a single SLI connector, whereas in every other the card has two of each:confused:

I hope this thing wont suck the life out my 480w:(

Yeah I saw that too mate. Afaik the GTX has 2 PCI-E and the GTS has one, but yet the naked GTX has only one...tis strange. Naked pic is prolly engineering sample

Who knows. All we know is it's gonna draw massive power and dump a crap load of heat.

As for performance? I have some numbers, and they're quite impressive. I cannot leak them though. You can find them on the intarweb if you search hard enough. They're posted on some of these chinese/japanese/taiwanese sites.

what sort of clock speeds are we looking at then for the new Nvidia 8800GT's and GTX's?

another quick question is that if i was to wait for these cards would it out perform quad SLi?

Am I the only one wondering what the thing on the left is? Or am I just being dumb? And actually the naked one is a GTS. Here's a pic of the GTX:

The thing that looks like a normal GPU core WC? I would think it would be some kind of cinima/HDTV chip. Like the old Rage3Ds had. *goes off too wave a knife at the dark*

I would have hoped that a card of this size and power would have an onboard physics processor.... Maybe next-gen cards will :(

Edit: They're also doing away with the GTX surname, it's now back to GTS and GT. So this card shown here is actually an 8800GTS, not GTX :)

Edit 2 @ WC: I would imagine that extra chipset on the left is to manage the extra 128bit memory interface since they've now gone from 256bit to 384bit. That's just my reconning however, thanks to NoL's advice.

Ay could be the extra memory indeed. The card is also supposed to have full HDCP support, so an nVidia cinema chip could also be there

BTW guys - a lot of the high-end PSU's already have 4xPCI-E connectors ;)

Would be nice if GPU makers put some consideration into power consumption...
