NVidia 77.22 drivers

Well...have seen theres a couple of 7800 issues that seem to be BIOS/driver related and i`ve just installed the 77.22 drivers and my idle temps are5-8 degrees higher than normal. If this changes anyones day...which it prob doesnt. If the drivers report the temps higher, it might help stop thermal throttling...

To be honest, I found using nibitor BIOS editior v2.2a I backed up my BIOS, selected teh temps tab, unchecked the 6600 temp trick box.

I then flashed both BIOS and now I dont get that issue at all with temps - not sure how accurate the temps are though LOL.

On the overclocking issue thats never been a problem for me - just use rivatuner and disable the clock test, then all will be golden and you can watch those benchies fly through the roof!!

I am using these drivers for benching as they are FM approved which meand I get to go in the Hall Of Fame if my scores are high enough - which is agreat accolade to have and extra pimpage for my favourite site EPUK!!

Hey Mav. I tried disabling the clock check, it wouldnt disable dunno why. Also... I modded my BIOS to show temps...if I disable it, will that mean the card it totally blind to temps, or just me?

Al I can tell you is that so far it has worked for me and Zax, Scorchio will try it later.

If Riva isint working properly have you got eh latest edition 15.6?

Me and Scorchio both have Galaxy 7800GTX's 430/1200 stock.

Maybe you need to use Daz's special BIOS or use riva to overclock your 2d and 3d speed to get the temps up.

Or perhaps you need to use driver cleaner to complete uninstall nvidia drivers

Instead of using a modded BIOS why not back-up your own BIOS, use NIBITOR V2.2a to remove teh check box thaty says 6600 temp trick - I have no idea what this will meand for your temps - mine say 38-40 all the time now and I do not know how accurate this is - although temps were 30-34 degress before I did it.

Not sure what else I can tell you try.

Hey Mav. was running 15.1 so will DL the latest version. Have to work today so might have a wee mess with settings tonight.

P.S....still on stock cooling so I prob wont notice the results straight away.... give it a couple weeks tho...

The drivers wont let you overclock a 6800 ultra in sli either ffs

I think it will be the same for all SLI cards fatty mate - you need to download rivatuner 15.6 - overrride teh clock test in power user setttings and force the overclock you knwo you can get.

It's a ball-ache I know but it's the only way.
