Not sure what to do!

Last week my good old 6600GT packed up for goods, been at uni and having work to do, also having my PC as the only source of entertainment in my room, my first reaction was, F**K.

After that I ordered a 7300LE, which came and was nackered : http://vault.emobash.com/dan/ScreenShot/muckedupgraphics.JPG < as so.

Now thats been sent back I am debating if I made the right choice, getting a crappy graphics card untill the DX10 ranges are out, and in my price range. The alternitive would be to bite the bullet and get this, Gainward BLISS 7950GT PCX [ http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=35470 ] which is nocking around for £180.. What would you do?
 
i would wait till DX10 and either get something like an X1950XTX for cheap or save till then and get a DX10 card, which wont be cheap....atall
 
It's a nice card actually. I've got it in for review and it's none to bad.

However I still think you're right saving for DX10, which are out very soon
 
The question now is [As I borrowed a 7800 for a week] do I still get the 7300LE or try and get something second hand? As i'm at uni I really dont want to be messing around to much.
 
A 7300GT would probably JUST tide you over. its going to be chugging along at 30fps though.

X1600pro may be a good stopgap. Fairly cheep these days and good card.
 
I don't really want to spend £60 on a card only to get another later, as I simply can't afford to, so it's £180 now, or £30 now. I was planning to just stick with the 7300LE but after reading some review on that Gainward I am really tempted.

How long do you think It will be before ~£200 DX10 cards are around? And How long before DX10 is really worth it, alot of people seem to imply it will only have benifits with Vista.
 
Just get a cheap card such as the 7300, the computer market's prices change so quickly that if you buy anything expensive now, you would really regret it later. Just buy the 7300 and get along with it while saving up for the 8800s, after popping one of those beasts into your system, it'll all be worth it! :yumyum:
 
I'm going for the save option, I guess it will stop me gaming too much when I should be working any way :S

Thanks for the advice, might see what FPS I can get with my 128mb Gainward 7300LE when the replacement arrives later this week.
