Not sure if anything is wrong with my a new 2TB WD green drive?

So today I installed a new 2TB WD green drive into my computer, plugged it in and went into Disk Management and I had to initialize it first. Okay then I went to create a new volume, left everything at the default and the partition size as the full size of the drive. I didn't tick the quick format and thought I'll do a full format.

So after the formatting completed, in the Disk Management, the new 2TB drive was healthy but when I went to My Computer and clicked on the drive, it only had 0.99TB of 1.81TB free space. There was nothing else inside the drive except a folder called System Volume Information, which I couldn't access and it appeared empty.

So I went back to Disk Management and I can see it recognises the full 1.81 TB and that about 50% of it's capacity was filled. I then went and did a quick format of the drive, and it now has the full 1.81TB as free space.

The question is, have I done something bad to the drive and is there a problem with it? How do I know it's working properly?

Hope someone can help thanks.

If I'm not mistaken that folder is been created by windows for every new partition. It contains the system restore files. You could try cleaning up the disk by deleting old restore points see if that helps freeing up space
