Firstly whoever paid that is an epic fool but the comments on the article are just jaw droppingly stupid.

Howlers such as -

The specs alone curb stomp any and every commercial graphics solution currently on the market, including Nvidia's Titan.

And

What's more is that WCCF Tech ran a benchmark comparison between the Titan and the Malta, and the stats show that the Malta royally kicked the living silicon out of the Titan like Anderson Silva beating Chael Sonnen's butt and handing it back to him on a platinum platter.

And.

In some cases there was nearly a 30% greater power boost on display from the Malta over the Titan. Can you believe that? AMD stomps on Nvidia at a near 30% discrepancy in performance. They should print that on the box.

If you're looking for a card that brings games like Metro: Last Light down to its knees, you cannot go wrong with the Radeon HD 7990 Malta.

Really take the cake. I guess he's never heard of Frame rating.

My fiancee used to breed cats. On several occasion, for no apparent reason, the mother would kill all of her kittens.

I never quite understood that until I read the article above. Maybe they had a sixth sense and were able to predict how stupid they would turn out?

this hurts my head. they can't even count to two, because if they could they wouldnt compare a 7990 to a titan. also it's just the damn reference version, the aresII beats it and the devil13 probably as well.
i hate people sometimes. nah actually pretty often.

What ever about frame rating/runts and it being a dual gpu card why on earth would you pay that kind of money for any computer part.

Maybe it was just AMD buying back their card and then intending to sue the seller for selling
something he was not allowed to sell in the first place? Never heard of something like that
happening, but that would be hilarious

I wanted to quote some highlights from the article but you've picked all the ones I would have
chosen as well. The moment I read
The card boasts a massive starting clock speed of 1ghz
I knew all was lost. Clock speed as a reference for how well a chip performs was last relevant,
when exactly?

:rollinglaugh:

7870 stock clock > hd 7950 stock clock > titan stock clock
7870 must be the best card.

Ah yes, of course. How did I not know that? Stupid me.

Although the guy has made me nostalgic for the old GHz race from the late 90's/early 2000's,
I'll give him that

cru3l just told me that i can comment without registering, let's take this down like that prebuilt PC vendor with the CIT PSUs or the IGN video.

I've already tried to leave a comment but it hasn't shown up yet. It seems to get stuck
somewhere in the pipeline :(

I got a reply from the author..

Wait, what? Sorry I've gone deaf and blind for a moment from the epic 8.2 teraflops.

OMG.. Seriously?

i guess that's more a prestigious achievement for the buyer. it's the first sold reference 7990 and an engineering sample, you don't get one of those every day. still stupid to pay that much for it.

But there's a hilariously tragic irony to all of this..

http://www.amd.com/uk/products/work...ro-remote-graphics/S10000/Pages/S10000.aspx#3

Basically that *IS* the 7990 and it can be bought for $3,599.

It doesn't work in Crossfire but why some one would pay $90,000+ for the same thing? beyond me. Personally I think it, and the muppet who wrote the article are just paid AMD slaves tbh.

All you would need to do is clock the Firepro to 1ghz per core and you would have had your 'official' 7990 ages and ages ago.

Yeah but what are his options with it now put it in a rig or frame it??

He could put it in a rig but it would outprice everything else what like 100 fold bragging rights or none he could have bought this instead:
