Hi guys, I have a corsair USB gaming headset (cant remember the exact model, but its not the vengeance). Now my question in this, if its USB does that mean even if I had a sound card, it wouldnt use it anyway?? The reason I ask is because im debating weather to get a cheap sound card to connect my amp to my PC but if my headset doesnt use the advantages of the sound card then I dont think I will bother as I use my headset more then I use my amp & speakers.
Another question which is off-topic to the thread title is what is the best connections to use to connect to my amp (if I were to get a sound card) I see lots of sound cards with optical out but I consider that to be pretty old tech. I have seen a few sound card with HDMI out but I always thought that was more for visual then audio. I have managed to connect my PC to my amp via a HDMI cable out of my graphics card and then have a HDMI going from my amp to my monitor/TV but this gives me major delay and is unusable for gaming or even web browsing for that matter.
The world of audio connections seems to be a mind field. Anyone out there able to help?
Cheers guys.
