I send my pc away to get overclock the man ring me and said he can get 5 ghz out of a 3930k processor it is on a ASUS Rampage IV micro ATX with 16 gb of corsair dominator platinum 1600mhz . Can them speed be got ?

Then would i not recomend to get it to 5Ghz it would be too hot for normally usage. Btw what are you planing to do with your computer ? just playing games or alot of rendering and video editing as well?

for gaming most people here i'm sure would recommend closer to 4.5-4.8ghz and save those volts to keep things cooler

I just ask him to put a small overclock on it . I Know nothing about overclocking

You asked him to do a "small" overclock and he decided on 5ghz... You sure this guy knows what he's doing?

As for learning about overclocking there is so much material on here and via a quick search on google that anyone can learn. That's how I learned plus the people here were very helpful running me through it when it came to it

if he's proposing that sort of overclock as a permanent deal, then i'd be asking for my money back.
there's no way in hell that at those settings on just a h100 with 2 fans the cpu will last any meaningful length of time

Your best bet is to tell him not to do anything, get your stock CPU back home and then overclock it yourself. This forum's teeming with people that can guide you along the way, and you won't run a risk of causing another Nagasaki.

Sorry my grammar is very bad i have dyslexia the way it stand at the min is he say he can overclock it to 5ghz and is waiting for me to say yes are no , so i asked here to c if it was too high because i no nothing about it and it is be the sounds like it is far to high

It's far too high, say no.
If he's saying it can reach 5ghz - then you need to get your PC back because he knows nothing about what he's doing...
We can help you better anyway

If you had a 240mm rad linked to a 3570k what sort of max overclock would be good for everyday use. Am i correct in thinking a good way to judge is to run prime 95 and see what temps its hitting.
