Noob needs advice

well I had an old system with the ATI x1600 pro AGP 8x and recently upgraded to a new system. The new system has a PCI-E interface and is obviously not compatible with AGP.

So now I am in the market for a new card and wondering what i should get.

I will use the card for gaming and am prety much looking to be able to run the "new" halo 2 game on full settings.

The specs of my new system are:

duo core 2.4 ghz

3 gigs ram

500 watts power supply

amd athlon

so let her rip guys, i have no preference in name brand or w/e. I'm just looking for something affordable that will like i sadi run halo 2 on maximum settings.

my budget is 200$$

A Geforce 8600 should do the job!

Only around $180, I think.

My x1900gt does and thats like $160 lol - you may as well get a dx10 card for future proofing - i think tox hit the nail on the head

small 8800GTS 320mb isnt much more expensive really.. depends what your budget is.. and how good your PSU is..
