Hey all...
I'm new to the forum but have been watching/reading lots the content. I have a dilemma ... well more like I have analysis paralysis.
I need a new case - I'll be housing a couple video card in there (probably Radeon 6850s or something budget-minded) I have a 2600K processor a 120 GB SSD (Intel) a 64 GB SSD (Crucial) a 1 TB Spinpoint drive and a Seasonic 750X PSU. None of that is compelling or interesting - or really has much impact on the case I choose... but here are the issues/challenges I have to deal with:
1) Should be pretty darn quiet - this will be a gaming rig but it resides in our family room where we watch movies etc.
2) It has to fit in a HxWxL area of 540mm x 406.5mm x 590.5mm (21.25 x 16 x 23.25 inches)
3) The case will reside INSIDE a cabinet - like a kitchen cabinet. The front door is mesh and there are some opening in the back - but the air inside there heats up and so the front will have to either have pretty good air intake fans - or I will have to get creative.
I am not opposed to watercooling really - but I don't plan on overclocking beyond a modest amount. I just need to manage temps and especially noise. I have a pretty flexible budget - but I would rather up the power of my components than spend tons on cooling. I like the looks of the Thermolab Trinity - and the Silver Arrow/Noctua are options - as is any simple watercooling (especially something already sealed up like the H70 or 920 antec). STill I prefer air cooling.
I had my heart set on the Raven v 2E and it's too long ... (grrr) So is the FT02. Many Mid towers are also too tall. I am not considering the 650D or the 600T (I prefer the looks of the 600T as I am all about 'plain looks' in my PCs)
Anyway - I have read about just about every major case released in the past year ... so if you guys have some assists on this and on the cooling/noise with regards to my cabinet - I'd be super-appreciative!
My hard budget on a case is $250 .. I would prefer to go no more than $150 and to push the money around elsewhere (cooling, higher powered GPUs (pair of 560tis or a single 580GTX so I can SLI down the road) maybe a soundcard and new keyboard etc...)
Thanks in advance!!!
