Noctua Competition!

Right yet another OC3D competition! The boys over at Noctua have given me a selection of kit, including 3 of their Gold Award winning NH-D14's!

Now the only thing they have requested is that we keep the winners to the EU, other than that its up to me.... But I really cant decide so its about time you lot pulled your weight around here!

So ideas in the thread and then later on we will vote on the most popular ones!

The idea I like is one we have done here before, you simply print out the OC3D logo and take a photo of it in the mentalist place you can think of. No holds barred!

the logo idea sounds good, got plenty of places in mind that might work well , would you be able to enter multiple photo's of different spots?

But more seriously, what about some sort of cryptic PC hardware crossword where you have to do all the clues to make up a one word answer, then correct entrants out a hat?

A Prime95 Small FFT 2 hour run that you have to keep your CPU temps within 5c above ambient temp... But I guess since everyone has different ambient temps this would be hard to do... ok nvm..

I really like both the photo and crossword ideas.

Other possible ones off the top of my head:

- you could have several photoshopped images of famous (or infamous!) hardware, so that it's not obvious what it is and then people email their answers? (This could infact be extended to include the crossword and other things as well, like a kind of actual pub quiz. Though that might take too much time to set up.)

- possibly some kind of drawing contest? Though I'm not sure what that would be of, and I suck at drawing so I'd lose straight away.

Crosswords ect are great ideas if they didnt take so much time to set up, without sounding lazey we need something that is easy to set up and crucially enter aswell.

Well someone did an OC'ing contest where you had to get a certain score on 3DMark Vantage or PCMark Vantage. I think it would be cool to do something like this. Everyone has to OC (or underclock for some ) to get a certain score or as close to it as possible and then the ones that achieve this get put into a hat and you draw names...

I dunno, I think NH-D14 and I think people want it so they can overclock as much as possible. So keeping with that theme in mind I thought it might be a good idea.

You could challenge people to write poems or limericks about OC3D etc? Then the honus is on us to do something good and you could still set a pretty short deadline on that.

Right we have till this weekend, if we dont come up with something good its going to be the logo competition!

I want it to require: minimal effort from me cos Ive run out of vouchers for 36 hour days.

Has to be a laugh

And require you lot to take some initiative

Hence me thinking that if you lot have to plaster a poster in some wacky places it shows the effort put in

Is this still going ahead? If so I suddenly though of another idea: a CAPTION COMPETITION. So all you guys at OC3D would need to do is choose an image for us to use.
