For inserting an image? If it triggers VAC Valve will in all likelihood revert the bans.


But that's a pretty underwhelming feature, I mean any stream software just lets you do that anyway. Except for Nvidia Shadowplay streaming, but who the hell does that?

Could be and although Valve always say they never remove VACs, there is a website where you can check the VAC status of every user and it shows you that people have gotten their VACs lifted.


I'd personally rather ban people for using ASUS' Sonar software that shows you on screen where sounds are coming from, as well as for those monitors that can add a crosshair.

Well I can name one case off the top of my head, a guy (Jambo on steam) was developing a screenshot tool (iirc, not 100% on this) and forgot to turn it off before joining a secure mode server. And that ban got lifted quite fast.

But the sonar software's function is worse than learning to position sounds on your own and adding a crosshair with a monitor / sticking some blu tack to it can never be detected. But honestly a game where adding your own crosshair gives an advantage has silly mechanics.

If they don't want people to land shots, they should add inaccuracy instead of just removing the crosshair.
