Nintendo will soon be producing a router that will allow access the Nintendo Wi-Fi Network on both the DS and the Revolution. The router plugs into a USB 2.0 port and transfers your computers internet connection wirelessly into your next-gen Nintendo devices. Nintendo feels this is a easier and better solution than providing an accessory to allow a hardline connection, and I tend to agree.

Also, reviewing the comments, there seems to be a bit of confusion. You are NOT forced to use this router for your DS and Revolution. The systems should work with all, or at least most, standard wireless routers. Thus, this does NOT ALIENATE ANYONE, but instead broadens the field of availability for those who don't already have a router, don't know jack about computers or networking, or anyone with a connection that won't go through a standard router. Ni-Fi still utilizes 802.11b, so even though it's not easy to tunnel, it is still compatible with a standard router, as long as the software is enabled to use it, which Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing DS will be the first to do.
Also, because no details have yet to be revealed, what operating systems it is compatible with has not yet been announced either. It will most likely be compatible with any OS that supports USB 2.0.
