Interesting. Can't say I want to play Nintendo games enough to carry that about though.

Nvidias tegra chip isn't so great on the CPU side, but easily the best GPU for mobile, so hopefully it's able to overcome that

Remember that Nvidia has not released anything new in that regard in ages, since the K1 in the Shield tablet really.

Nvidia has worked hard to make their own new Tegra chips for cars, which are now using Pascal, FinFET Transistors and their new Denver CPU cores. If the NX uses the new Car Tegra stuff it will be surprisingly powerful.

Is that even suitable for this though? Wouldn't there stuff be specifically designed for cars? They'd have to go back and change quite a bit of design I'd think. It's probably less expensive that way I'd suppose rather than a completely new architecture. So it could be possible for sure

Nvidia has been talking about their "Denver" ARM CPU core designs since the Sheild Tablet was released. The cores are designed for tablets and ARM devices, not just cars.

Create a strong GPU design and a strong ARM CPU core design and it can be applied to a lot of different industries.

I suppose so. don't know how games will react to a weak ARM CPU. Even if it's a strong ARM CPU, doesn't mean it ain't up to snuff compared to a proper desktop CPU

Yeah, but the main this is whether or not it can compete with the AMD Jaguar CPU cores in the PS4/Xbox One.

Look at that joystick. Its criminally bad and uncomfortable

There will be a separate controller design that will act as a "traditional" wireless controller. So all of your controller do not need to be this hot-swap design.

I'm sure Nintendo and their third party devs will make the most of the , albeit, limited hardware but my main concern (as a WiiU owner to play MK8 basically) is battery life. The handheld WiiU screen controller has a pitiful battery life.

Maybe that more efficient "portable from the start" design will hold up. That fatty screen is going to burn through battery....i hope not.

Looks like another commercial failure for Nintendo - I just can't see 3rd party devs warming to a less powerful console that isn't x86 based. Just like with the WiiU, 3rd party devs will wait to see how sales do, which is a catch-22 situation in which no 3rd party support translates into no sales, and therefore no 3rd party support.

The question is: will it do as badly as the WiiU or as badly as the GameCube?

The battery life I can't imagine being more than 4 hours due to it also charging the controllers which are Wi-fi Direct as opposed to bluetooth.

Will be interesting seeing how this plays out considering a large portion of the gaming industry is focused on more power, More resolution etc....

You say that but there is a large portion on mobile/tablets development these days too.
