Nintendo 64 Classic Mini leaks onto the web

You know... Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. It's nice to see that this might be developed, but with the current pace, we have a "retro" Wii U by the end of next year :D

People should leave this ridiculous rose tinted nostalgia where it belongs, in their childhood.

The early 3D console graphics look utterly horrendous in a way that the 16bit pixel art era games never will.

TBH, I would prefer it if they just made a good virtual console on the Switch. Have all of their classic games in one place.

Honestly I am happy for an N64 mini since someone will dump the emulator code and we can finally have decent N64 emulation. It's the only thing that's letting down my Raspberry Pi

Would be cool to see a Wii Mini. :)

Joking. They had that. It was crap. They could make a good one, but a nice Wii U Mini would be much better. Probably not enough nostalgia value in that, unfortunately.

To this day some of the best games are on the N64 and older consoles. If a company is willing to make it easier to get these games for cheaper and share then with newer generations then hell yeah im going to buy them. Gaming isnt always about the graphics and nintendo proves this year after year with releasing meaningful games that have a great story or just fantastic gameplay.

There were some fantastic games on the 64. Many of them are still more than playable today, and don't look that bad. Conker's Bad Fur Day is one, Mario 64 etc.

Not that I'd buy any of them though.

And the 4th most successful game they had... Zelda Ocarina of time. My god that was an awesome one.

N64 for me was their best console. There were some incredible games on it. Mario, Pilotwings, the first Waverace, Excitebike 64, Conker's, DK64 (omg that was good) and so on.

They had Rare then, and Rare pushed that console to breaking point. Even shigsy said he never dreamed the N64 would be as capable as it was. It also had some one off truly original games like Blastdozer 64 (or Blast Corps here in the UK).

I loved mine. Had it years.

IMO Nintendo lost their arm when Rare went off to Microsoft and the Stamper twins started winding down. It was also a master stroke to have them on board when the hardware was what they were masters of (SGI).

And who can forget 4 player Goldeneye?

^Wot he said. ^_^

The N64 was the only console to ever draw me off my pc. It's the only console that I ever bought and also the only console that I still own.

Goldeneye64, perfect dark, conkers bad fur day and pilot wings were pretty much my favourite games of that era.
