Nine long years ago, U.S. Congress enacted a sweeping Web censorship law aimed at protecting children on the web. The law was promptly forgotten about after a lawsuit was directed at the US Justice Dept. The censorship law looks set to have some closure in early 2007. Although our job as adults is to protect children from nasties, both on and off the web; this new law if allowed to pass will have widespread implications for the web and freedom of speech as we know it.
